The Friends of Winckley Square researched some of the buildings and the lives of many of the women who lived, worked or were associated with the Square.
In the Exhibition marquee you can see the two exhibitions that were on display in the Harris in 2019 and 2020
‘Extraordinary Women of Winckley Square’. Learn about some of the women’s untold stories which will fascinate, surprise and possibly shock you; for example one of the young girls in the painting ended up on Hitler’s ‘Hit List’. You can hear more about these women and other remarkable women if you join a guided walk.
‘ Inside Out’. We were fortunate to go inside eight of the grand houses in Winckley Square and take photographs of the many features that have been retained since they were built in the early to mid 19th century. This culminated in an exhibition.
